Canadian Screen Awards: Sphere Media stands out by winning Best Drama Series and Best Comedy Series

Transplant shines with 8 categories, Sort Of wins three awards

Sphere congratulates its teams for an impressive 11 wins at the Canadian Screen Awards, which were presented from April 4 to 10.

CTV original medical series Transplant was a particular standout, winning Best Drama Series, Best Writing, Drama Series, Best Photography, Drama, Best Picture Editing, Drama, Best Achievement in Casting, Fiction, and three performance awards: Hamza Haq for Best Lead Actor, Drama Series, Laurence Leboeuf for Best Lead Actress, Drama Series and Ayisha Issa for Best Supporting Actress, Drama.

The CBC original series Sort Of was honored with Best Comedy Series, Best writing, Comedy and Best Achievement in Make-up awards.

In total, for 2022, Sphere has received 27 nominations in 23 categories.

The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television’s Canadian Screen Awards celebrate annually the country’s top talent in the film, television and digital sectors.
