Youth Media Alliance Awards: BGM takes home two wins

Backyard Beats and It’s my Party! honored at annual gala

BGM, a content-creation company part of the Sphere Media group , is proud to have received two Youth Media Alliance Awards of Excellence last night. Backyard Beats was crowned the winner in the Live Action Non-Scripted, Ages 6-9 category. Also, the series It’s my Party! won for best Live Action Non-Scripted for ages 9+.

Backyard Beats invites children to join Monica as she builds DIY craft-struments from everyday items that can be found in a recycling bin. Along for the ride are Pro Musicians and Junior Jammers who visit the backyard for a jam session. Their instruments are the inspiration for Monica’s craftstruments builds. Each episode concludes with Monica and her friends making some Backyard Beats! Backyard Beats has been greenlit for a second season.

It’s My Party! takes viewers on a fascinating journey of discovery into different communities within Canada. Each episode pairs up two kids who have never met, one is the guide, the other their guest. These newfound friends jump feet first into new cultural experiences, participating in challenges and games linked to the food, fashion and festivities of the dynamic celebrations.
